I am a bookkeeper with 4 young adult children. They do not or will not balance their checkbooks and I can't for the life of me figure out WHY? I suspect with today's ONLINE BANKING they feel it is not necessary. They can logon anytime to check their bank balance, but they take the online balance as gospel. When my son's check to me for auto insurance bounced, he said it was my own fault...I waited to long to deposit the check. We live in an instant society where money transactions are immediate. How was he supposed to remember a check he gave me 7 days ago? I think I got a glimpse of the future....and it doesn't include paper checks.
